Ingredients
- 500 g (1lb) turkey mince / ground turkey
- ½ cup fresh breadcrumbs (¼ cup dried breadcrumbs)
- 1 egg yolk
- ½ cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 jalapeno finely chopped
- 1 tbsp chives finely chopped
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
For the burgers
- 4 burger buns
- lettuce
- 4 slices cheese
- sliced tomato
- sliced onion
- mayonnaise
Instructions
- Combine turkey, breadcrumbs, egg yolk, grated cheese, finely chopped jalapeño, chopped chives, garlic powder, oregano, salt and pepper.
- Mix until just-combined. With damp hands, form the mixture into four burger patties.
- Cook the patties over medium-high heat in a grill pan or on an outdoor grill until golden brown on both sides and cooked through.
- Split and toast the buns then top with mayonnaise, lettuce, the grilled turkey patties, cheese, tomato and onion.
- Serve immediately.
